How do balloons breathe? How does a cup speak? How much can a bunch of keys tell about our biography?
In this workshop we are looking for life and stories of (supposedly) dead things that we meet day after day. We tell fairy-tales using newspapers, transform plush vegetables into monsters and let children’s ski-suits play tennis.
Hereby we start with our own body, explore its possibilities of movement, and find out which sounds our voice can make. Later, we have a look on how objects can jump, walk, and fly. We examine which speech fits which thing and what rhythm tells us about characters. During the workshop various principles of theatre of things are experienced, explained, and tested.
Participants are enabled to apply different operating techniques to both directly operated puppets and everyday objects.
